about Jennifer:
A little info. about me... I began teaching in 1993 after receiving my Masters degree in Special Education. I taught several years in New York at the primary and intermediate levels. In 2001 my husband and I relocated to Arizona. We are both teachers and at that time needed a change in scenery. You can only dig out of the snow so many times! Moving to Arizona my husband and I were hired on at the same school, which was a great way to start our cross-country move. I had the amazing opportunity to teach kindergarten for 5 years. In 2004 I became a NBCT. From kindergarten I became a reading coaching which allowed me to work more closely with teachers on their reading instruction. I am beginning a new position in August as an Academic Coach at Santa Cruz Elementary School in Maricopa. I am excited about this opportunity to work with and support teachers. I am involved as a facilitator for National Board candidate support and the PASS (Partners Advancing Student Success) Program. These opportunities have allowed me to work with teachers from all around the state which has been very rewarding and inspiring. I am currently taking classes at ASU West pursuing an Ed.D. in teacher leadership and innovation.
